🔧 How to Set Up LED Lighting for Your Terrarium:
Danny PhamShare
1. Choose the Right Type of LED:
Full-Spectrum White LEDs (5,000K–6,500K) work well for most indoor plants.
Brands like Sansi, Spider Farmer, or GE Grow Light are beginner-friendly and energy-efficient.
2. Determine Light Duration:
10–12 hours per day is ideal for most tropical terrarium plants.
Use a timer switch to automate the lighting schedule and avoid overexposure.
3. Position the Light Properly:
Keep the light 10–30 cm above the terrarium.
Avoid placing it too close, which may cause heat build-up and leaf burn.
Ensure even coverage across the whole container.
4. Monitor and Adjust:
Observe your plants weekly for signs of stretching (too little light) or scorched leaves (too much).
Adjust distance or duration as needed.
✅ Pro Tips:
Use reflective surfaces behind your terrarium to maximize light spread.
Combine LED with natural light if possible—but avoid direct afternoon sun which may overheat closed terrariums.
Clean your terrarium glass regularly to ensure optimal light penetration.
