Filmy Fern – Abrodictyum caudatum

Abrodictyum caudatum (Brack.) Ebihara & K.Iwats. (Hymenophyllaceae), known as shiny filmy fern or jungle bristle fern, grows on sandstone or as an epiphyte on tree trunks in temperate and montane tropical rainforest.

As in other filmy ferns, the frond lamina is largely one cell thick and lacks stomata, so the plant depends on stable high humidity. It prefers cool conditions of 15–25 °C. Tie to bark or rock with thread; each portion includes the moss on which the fern is growing.
